France - May 2010 - Update on the building

Church BuildingFrance - by Jan Nicholson

In July 2009 I once again had the privilege of visiting Madi and Nicole Konki who live in the outskirts of Paris, and whose fellowship is in a very ‘dark’ spiritual area of France. During my visit there was a baptismal service where candidates of all ages made a declaration of their love and relationship with Christ. As a result of this eleven people made decisions to follow Christ for themselves, five at the service, four over lunch and another two later in the day! Praise the Lord! At the same service, there was a gentleman who has very kindly agreed to work with them for free on the building extension project, offering expertise that they don’t have in their midst. Work began on the extension in early August which is obviously none too soon if they continue to see people saved at a rate comparable to this summer. If you feel the Lord is asking you to support the work in any way, please do get in touch with the Connections office.

Here is an extract of an email I received from Madi and Nicole, dated 29th September, 2009:

“We hope that all is well with you.

“In August we started the extension of our church building and all is going well by the grace of God. We want to ask you if you could stand in prayer with us for two important dates in this coming month.

“We will be having a special offering for our building. We are praying for God to release a spirit of generosity

in the hearts of His people and we are praying that as we bring our sacrificial offering God will continue to release the miracle of multiplication and divine provision for us to bring this extension project to completion.

“We will also be having a consecration service where we will be consecrating two Elders. Apostle Ray Booth will be leading the service. There are a lot of good things happening to us at the moment in the Church. A woman gave testimony last Sunday. She was healed of cancer last month when she attended one of our services. The doctors had told her she had only three months to live. She is totally healed! Glory be to God! God is giving us special miracles. It is a time of favour, but we know that we need a lot of prayers to press on and continue the work. We face some very big challenges, but know that God is faithful.

Please remember us in your prayers, we really need your support and your friendship at this particular time. May the Lord richly bless you and may He continue to bless the work of your hands and make you prosper in everything that you do for His Glory.”

Update on the Church Extension Building Project in France

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We want to update you about our church building extension project in Mantes la Jolie, France. We started

last year in August 2009, and by the grace of God all is going well. We have now completed the first part

of the project at a total cost 260,000.

We need to trust God for the second part of the project (electricity, plumbing, sound, thermal insulation

and flooring) and hold fast until completion.

We still need 200,000 to complete the project. For that, we need to have faith in God.

Otherwise, there are a lot of good things still happening to us at the moment in the church, despite warfare and great opposition. A pregnant woman for whom we prayed last month had a malformed baby in her womb. She had an x- ray and the malformation has now disappeared and the baby is perfect! She called us this morning with the good news! Glory to God for answered prayers! God is still giving us special miracles, people are being saved and healed and set free and the Kingdom of God is being extended in our city and our country.

Our congregation has now increased and we can’t legally sit more people in our Sunday meetings. Our challenge is to extend the building to seat 400 people. We are taking up this challenge in faith. God has given us the vision that this building will not only be for local gatherings. (There are already other churches and Christian associations using our building). It will be a gathering place for the body of Christ, where different churches will meet to pray, intercede and worship God together. It will also be a centre for International Connections, conferences and a school of ministry. God is a God of nations.

We need bigger premises so that we can minister to the need in our community with food and a clothes

bank for the poor and the needy and also helping children with learning difficulties.

At a time in our country where cults and false religions are rampant to exploit the suffering and despair of the most vulnerable and needy in our region and society, we need to pick up the challenge to spread the good news of the gospel of salvation and truth in Jesus, particularly among the youth.

We need a meeting place for young people, single mothers and their toddlers in an informal setting where they can feel the love of Jesus and get to know about Him.

We want to ask you if you could stand in prayer with us for our building fund. We are praying for God to release a spirit of generosity in the hearts of His people and we are praying that as we bring our offering

God will continue to release the miracle of multiplication and divine provision for us to bring this extension project to completion.

We are pressing on in faith, but we need a lot of prayers to continue the work. We are facing some very big challenges and spiritual warfare, but we know that God is faithful. Please remember us in your prayers. We really need your help in this journey of faith and we value your friendship. May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your generous donations and your continuing support. If you want to help us with finance, you can do it through Connections.

May the Lord richly bless you and may He continue to bless the work of your hands and make you prosper in everything that you do for His Glory.
